Kifah Sasa works at UNDP as a Nature, Climate and Energy Program Officer and Auxiliary Resident Representative in Costa Rica. He has served as a regional economic adviser and senior adviser to the Green Commodities Program of UNDP, supporting governments and companies linked to productive agricultural chains and food industries to improve their environmental and social performance. He has also coordinated marine conservation projects in Cocos Island.
Kifah's key achievements include innovating the way in which land-use change is monitored in productive landscapes in Costa Rica (MOCUPP), and leading the mobilization of almost $100 million from vertical funds in the last decade. Prior to joining UNDP, Kifah created popular education organizations and supported community-based groups pro-bono. With the Central American Integration System, he advised Central American ministers on social integration, housing and human settlements, and health.
Kifah has taught development studies at the Master's level at Peace University, and Ethno-biology at the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS). He was educated in the United Kingdom (Middlesex, BA, MA), the Netherlands (ISS, Post Dip) and Costa Rica.
