To build the cities we want and need, cities must change course and place equity and sustainability at the core of every decision and action. Equal access to clean air should be part of this transition.
On December 12, 2023, UrbanShift and World Resources Institute Air Quality program hosted a webinar about how Latin American cities are working toward clean air for all and the challenges and opportunities they have faced in this effort.
In this interactive webinar, we reviewed the status of access to clean air for all in Latin American cities. Drawing on examples from Bogota, Guadalajara and Monterrey, we shared success stories of developing and using data analytics to inform, design and evaluate impact of efforts to achieve clean air for all—and share this work with the public. The webinar also shared how cities have dealt with challenges around incorporating the right to breathe as part of integrated planning efforts. During the webinar, participants were also invited to exchange their own experiences and ideas to accelerate progress on delivering clean air for all.
