Barbara is the Senior Adaptation Finance Manager for the C40 Cities’ Finance program, responsible for supporting member cities in overcoming finance challenges to delivering climate reislient infrastructure.
Previously, she served as C40 City Adviser for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she had a key role in delivering the city’s Sustainable Development and Climate Action Plan, the first city plan with targets for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions neutrality and climate adaptation. Prior to joining C40, Barbara served as the Head of the Adaptation and Resilience Sector of the City Hall of Recife, Brazil. She also worked on the development of the first Rio de Janeiro Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.
Barbara holds a Master's degree in Urban Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, focused on climate change adaptation planning.
