The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was founded in 1991 to create a new post-Cold War era in central and eastern Europe. The EBRD Green Cities program identifies and connects cities’ environmental challenges with sustainable infrastructure investments and policy measures. With over €1 billion in EBRD committed funds, the program is operational in more than 20 cities and has mobilized over €250 million investments to date.
